FAQs

Here are the questions we get a lot

But if you don’t see the question you have, please feel free to email us at WildGooseChaseManagement@gmail.com

What methods do you use to control geese?

We use trained Border Collies and egg addling to humanely deter geese. Our dogs simulate natural predators, encouraging geese to relocate without harm. All techniques comply with the Migratory Bird Treaty Act and local regulations.

Is your goose control service safe for the geese?

Yes, absolutely! We use non-lethal methods that cause no harm to the geese. Our trained dogs do not physically contact the birds; they simply encourage them to leave the area.

How do you get the geese to stop coming back?

Our professionally trained Border Collies utilize their natural herding instincts to create a consistent presence that geese perceive as a threat. This persistent, non-lethal pressure encourages geese to relocate to safer areas. Unlike static deterrents, our dogs adapt their approach, preventing geese from becoming accustomed to a single method.

What is egg addling, and why is it necessary?

Egg addling is a humane population control method where egg shells are punctured with a small hole to prevent development. This technique helps prevent overpopulation and reduces goose-related problems in the long term.

Are your services compliant with wildlife protection laws?

Yes. We strictly follow the Migratory Bird Treaty Act and all state-specific regulations. We help you obtain necessary permits for egg addling and document all activities to ensure your facility’s compliance.

How often do you visit a property to control geese?

We provide daily visits, sometimes multiple visits a day if needed (Monday – Friday) to ensure consistent deterrence. Regular visits are crucial during peak goose activity periods such as Nesting, Molting, and Migration seasons.

What types of properties do you service?

We provide humane goose control services for golf courses, parks, corporate campuses, residential communities, airports, and other outdoor spaces experiencing nuisance geese problems.

How long does it take to see results?

Results can be seen immediately after our initial visits. Long-term success requires consistent monitoring and adjustments, especially during nesting and migration seasons.

What areas do you serve?

We primarily serve the Salt Lake and Utah Valleys. Contact us to see if we can help in your area!

Why use trained dogs for goose control?

Border Collies are especially effective because their natural herding instincts simulate predatory threats. This humane method creates a stressful but harmless environment for the geese, encouraging them to leave and not return.
